The prose narrative was researched and written by George Howard Post. Background Information George Howard Post, a junior high school social studies teacher, researched his family's genealogy for his personal use. While visiting the Museum he noticed that George Washington Horsman built the skipjack E.C. Collier. The builder Horsman has a cousin relationship (degree undetermined) with Post's great-grandfather, who was also a George Washington Horsman (b. 1850 d. 1910/1917). Scope and ContentThe prose narrative and accompanying census material document the Horsman family from the arrival of Thomas Horsman in 1676-1677 in Dorchester County, Maryland, probably from northwest England as an indentured servent. The Townsend and Shorter family lines enter the narrative in the 1860s and 1870s. | No image URL. | View | |||
